Fusing and slumping; glass arts
Artist profile 2016. Stay tuned for 2017.
Greg was born an artist. He left toys on the shelves for boxes and sticks. He created patterns from chaos.
He draws inspiration from anything and everything and has carved out a piece of his home for two kilns, boxes of supplies, and decades worth of broken pieces and lost knickknacks that will find themselves transformed into art pieces sometime down the road.
For Create for Recovery, Greg created a slumped glass clock. Different from stained glass (which Greg also makes), slumped glass requires building a 3-D piece then melting the pieces together. Greg’s slumped glass clock retains in the 3-D texture of stacked glass, but is soft and cool like polished sea glass.
