Finding peace in butterflies

Wayne Bryant was an amateur photographer who found beauty in wildlife, no matter how small. When Wayne died in 2016, his wife and daughter clung to his photos as a way of preserving his memory. (Wayne’s daughter, Courtenay, was caught stealing a favorite photo from Mom’s house and hanging it in her own– TWICE!). Wayne’s widow, Pam, generously donated two photos of butterflies to Create for Recovery to support people who will find solace and hope in art therapy.

Wayne was a fleet mechanic who freelanced as an RV mechanic and traveled around the country to visit trade shows and RV events. A persistent man, he started courting his wife, Pam, when he was eight years old, but she didn’t say YES for more than 25 years. An Indiana gentleman through and through, Wayne and his wife moved to Maryland when their only daughter moved East and they wanted to keep close. He was a known handyman, rogue snow shoveler, and troubleshooter.
